Save the date... 22nd March 2008

The date has been set for the 22nd March 2008. We are getting married at a beautiful wedding venue the Midlands, KZN (Just past Drakensburg on the way to Durbs from Joburg) and the ceremony as well as the reception will be taking place here.

All the information about the venue, accommodation prices plus other need to know information is in your "Need to Know" pack. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Bearing in mind that our wedding is happening over the Easter Weekend, we thought that this would be the most convenient time for our guests from Durban and Joburg.

A perfect proposal

After seven years of dating, I had pretty much gotten over the "ooh when is my wedding" blah-blah-blah phase.

So on our seven year anniversary, (7th August) when we went out for dinner (as we usually do), I had no idea what was going to happen that night.

Gary took me to the Roma in Durban, one of my favourite restaurants to celebrate our seven years of dating. Little did I know that Gary was going to propose - I was none the wiser!!!

We have dinner and I have yet to realise that anything is about to happen. So just before we were ready to have desert Gary gets up (I thought he was going to the bathroom), comes over to me (Im wondering, what is going on here - still as clueless as ever), gets down on one knee (ok, Im getting the picture now, butterflies in my stomach and a smile longer than the nile river) and asks me to marry him. Shocked, happy and exited (all at the same time) I say yes and he shows me this most amazing ring and puts it on my finger.

Needless to say I could not stop smiling the whole night (actaully for days, no weeks, no months, no actually I'm still smiling). After we had both calmed down, Gary phoned my parents in Greece from his cellphone and aksed for my dads permission (awwww). My mom and dad were both head over heels. He then phoned his own parents, and even I could hear his mom screeming... it was certainly a night to remember.

It started with a kiss...

This is the story of how we met, we hope you enjoy it...

Some of you might already know this, but believe it or not, for me (Dimi) it was not love at first sight - well the first time round at least.

Gary was working at HiFi Corp, and I was working at Zoot, both in the East Rand Value Centre. One of the guys from HiFi Corp told me (Dimi) about this guy that was interested in me. When I saw him (Gary) it was definately not love at first sight . This guy (Gary, belive it or not) had long, blonde hair, was tall and skinny and I (Dimi) thought, no ways Jose!!!!

A few years later, while I (Dimi) was at Benoni College, I saw the MOST GORGEOUS guy in the world standing in the corridor. I (Dimi) fell in love with this blonde haired god with the most A-Mazing legs you can imagine :). I realised that it was the same Gary, and I could not believe it. By the way, Gary came to my college to speak to the guy I used to like at the time, because he was hitting on Gary's then girlfriend (I know, can you say weird).

Anyways, my brother, Evan was working at HiFi Corp with Gary and I told my brother how much I liked Gary. Together we plotted to get Gary to take me to my Matric Farewell. I was under the impression that Gary broke up with what’s-her-face, but to my dismay, they were still together, so I (Dimi) very nervously phoned Gary and told him that I didn’t want to go with him. His answer was "Its better, because I don’t think my Girlfriend would be too happy" (smart answer!!!).

Anyways, they eventually broke up for the like the Gazillionth time and my brother was having a 21st B-day bash at Tramps (yes, in Boksburg!). So I begged him to invite Gary. Gary came (alone and single) and we spent the whole night just talking and smiling.
The following week, the 7th August (which is the day we celebrate as our anniversary), we went to Millennium Night Club - and from that day it was official - Husband and Wife :)
